Valarie released a new kit called Memory Lane this weekend at Funky Playground Designs. I love the colour scheme and great elements.This is perfect for those journaling layouts/vintage pages.

PSE Tip Time!

I have discovered that I am in love with the alt button! LOL! I have some alt time saving tips for you. I scrap in PSE 8.0 so I know these work in that program. They probably work in other PS/PSE versions too, but I can't confirm. If you scrap in another program try this out and come back here and let us know if it works or doesn't.

My first alt button tip for you is a super easy way to zoom in and out. I used to click on the zoom tool, then click on the + or - sign for zooming. Sometimes I want to zoom way in when I am scrapping so I can get a close up view, and other times I want to zoom out so I can see the entire page. An easy way to zoom in is hold down the alt button and then roll your mouse forward (the little roller in the middle of the mouse). To zoom back out press and hold the alt button and roll your mouse roller backward. This is such a nice feature. I just discovered it and it has already saved me lots of extra clicking! LOL!

My second alt button tip is a quick way to duplicate a layer/element. Hover over the element on your page/workspace and press alt, click the mouse, and drag the duplicated layer where you want it. This is such a fabulous and much faster way to do things (especially if you are an element cluster-er).

I hope you enjoyed my alt tips and discover your new love for the alt button also! Make sure you let us know if the alt tips work in your program.

Lazy Saturday

Hi everyone! It is raining here and we are having a very lazy Saturday morning! We all need mornings like that don't we? It has been nice, just hanging out with the kids and their friends. It got me thinking about this fun kit from Valarie- Besties. This is a great kit for scrapping all your girl time photos! Grab it here

Here is a layout using Besties. It is from my daughters birthday party last year. When I saw this kit I knew it would be perfect for this picture!

is a gorgeous kit by Valarie, which lends itself to so many different layouts. It’s available exclusively at Elemental Scraps.

I guess it would be great for journaling those special moments that happen in every family or for those bright and funky photos that need a neutral background to make them pop.

The papers are incredibly detailed and here are a couple of my layouts using it. The blog is also decorated by me using this kit, so you can tell that I love it :-)

As well as Agnieszka’s beautiful Naturally clusters, made with Valarie’s kit, I’ve got some other new releases to share with you today.

Valarie is taking part in the August Colour Play event at Elemental Scraps. All the items are only $1 each and use the same colour swatch, so it’s great if you want to pick and mix from all the designers. It’s also a great way to sample a designers work, without paying full price for a kit :-) So without further ado, here is Valarie’s contribution, which was part of a collab with SweetDigiScraps…Boho Nights.

I hope you are having a great Saturday. Sorry I am so late posting this today. I have spent the day back to school shopping with my 5 year old. She is starting Kindergarten this year and I am not sure if I should cry or do the happy dance! Shopping with her was not fun, lets just say her tastes and my tastes are a lot different. I told my husband he was in charge of the clothes shopping when she is a teenager! In honor of my little girl ( who thinks she is a big girl), I wanted to show you my latest layout of her. Not long ago I discovered Free Font Friday on the Creative Keepsakes Website (I'll link you up below). The first CK font I downloaded from the site was CK Noah. Of course being the font lover that I am I had to try it out and make a layout! I had a really cute photo of my little man, an awesome kit, and my new free font. It was a combo for some scrappin' fun.

Here is my layout:

The journaling on the bottom was my new free CK font.
I used Valarie's cute kit Small Town USA in my layout. (I also used Valarie's Old Leather Alpha which was in my scrap stash)

I just loved working with that kit and it is a must have kit for me as a mom of two busy boys. If you'd like to take a closer look check it out ----->HERE<-----

Today's Free Font Friday is SO cute! I couldn't resist grabbing it. I'm visualizing some amazing title work with this one!

I hope you all had a wonderful time buying scrapping goodies during iNSD?

I had huge access problems with certain stores only to find out that the cause was my wireless router was slowly dying and I’ve now got a new one :-) We’re having a complete kitchen refit too and to top it all my car windscreen got a chip which has now spread and needs a new one. It has felt like one of those days all week. Just to cheer us all up here is a photo of DH cooking in our half finished kitchen LOL!

I love hybrid!

Hi everyone,
I made a fun little project last week that I want to share with you!
This was so easy. I created a 4x6 document in Photoshop, dragged over the background papers from Valarie's awesome kit below, and then added some of the embellishments to the cover and some of the journaling tags to the interior pages. I arranged them on a 12x12 document because I have a large-scale printer, but if you don't, then just arrange what you can on a letter-size page and print on cardstock or matte photo paper.
After you've got them all printed, cut them out, adhere them back to back and add a binding. I used my Bind-It-All because it was here, but you could punch holes and use binder rings or even ribbon! This little journal is going to camp with my daughter. The hope is she will write a bit in it each day, or will pass it back and forth with her bunk mates, or get autographs or email addresses for later. Whatever she really wants to do with it is okay by me!

So this kit is beautiful! A collaboration kit with Kandy Kane Creations, it includes everything you need to document your story.

Hi everyone, I'm a guest CT member through the end of April and I'm so excited to be here! I got to play with this new kit from Valarie already and its adorable!

I love the bright colors and the papers are really great. Lots of neat patterns to mix and match!
Since we don't celebrate Easter in our home, I decided to use this kit on a layout about myself. I've been looking at this photo for a couple of weeks and finally was able to scrap it, thanks to this perfect kit from Valarie!

Hi everyone, Dalis here! As soon as I saw this kit I knew it was going to be one of my favorites from Valerie. First of all... it is HUGE... so it is like having two FULL kits in one... everything is gorgeous! I wanted to get my hands into a bit of hybrid w/ the kit, because I think the colors are just perfect for printing on plain cardstock. Here is what I came up with... Enjoy!

It was perfect for the pictures of our family hiking!

Well- I am off to keep my kids busy. They are out of school for a snow day....the only problem is there is NO snow on the ground here. Snow days in Georgia consist more of a few icy patches on the roads. In my opinion snow days are no fun unless there is snow to play in! Today we are just stuck in the house with nothing to do :) Fun times!!! I am sure by the end of the day I will have plenty of pictures of my "critters" to scap using this kit!!!

"I SPY"... Tons of Little Critters

Hi everyone, Dalis here. This has to be the cutest critter kit I have seen in a looooong time. As soon as I saw it I knew what I was going to do. I had been the day before at the "Dollar Tree" store and found this cool winter sippy cups. It had some cute penguins and when I tried to open the sippy cup I noticed that the design was removable. I took one of each color, one in red, one in green and this one in the same blue as Valerie's Little Critters kit. I made this one for our car trip to Florida, I thought I could put as many little critters on the cup and use it as a "I Spy" sippy cup.

When can you get the pieces for Little Critters?: December 19,20,21,22
What's the event?: December Tidal Wave
Where: Scrapable

NOTE: I haven't found a template that fits perfectly to these sippy cups so I used a toddler sippy cup template from another designer and then used the Skew option to stretch it at different angles until it fit snugged into the cup.

Are you having a good week? I hope it has been better then mine. Both of my kids and myself have had strep this week. YUCK- When I am sick I like to sit and scrap.
